Brian Fooks

Brian is one of our long time weekend regulars and is best known for his sense of humour and his corny jokes. He also good at ribbing people but can also take as good as he gets and all in good humour.

When he was 4 years old, Brian was given a chuck glider. From that moment he was hooked and has tried possibly all streams of model flight, including Control Line and Single channel. He has beem flying radio controlled models for 40 years and has always built his own aircraft from scratch.

His favourite aircraft? All was his first answer, but australian designed aircraft are particular favourites. As are those aircraft operated by the Australian military.

Brian is presently flying his Boomerang and his twin engine plane, but has almost completed building a Steerman.

The moment that Brian considers most memorable would be some years ago when he has an aircraft fly away due to a switch failure. Amazingly, after running out of fuel the aircraft landed itself in one of the Edgell paddocks.

While Brian has tried many streams of modelling, his current passion is for warbirds. And when he's not flying models his favourite activity is flying the real thing. (some people are so lucky!)
